Evolution of Art

“This world is but a CANVAS to our imagination”

From the moment humans began creating art they’ve been fascinated by the colourful montage of their thoughts and the final outcome was a way of storytelling, a way of expressing. The art dates back 45,000 years from now, when the first figurative representation was that of a pig. This is one of the oldest artworks in the history of art.

The History of Art is told in the chronology of masterpieces created during each civilization. The initial artists had an obsession with creating human form, resulting in countless masterpieces in the genre of portraiture. The early civilization involved storytelling and lifestyle representation through art. Artists used the walls of the caves to depict their mundane lives through art. Art and artists have known no boundaries to confine their imagination. From Lionardo Da Vinci to Edward Hopper, from Frida Kahlo to Mark Rothko, art has evolved in its own way.

The drawings on the walls that specified life to now drawing on walls to spread awareness, the methods haven’t changed much but the purpose has. Everyone uses art for a different purpose, some to express their feelings, others to fight those feelings, some to oppose a movement and some to support a movement.

Art could be modern or temporary, abstract or figurative, but every masterpiece has a story to tell and a lesson to teach. Art has evolved in ways that are up for interpretation. From 30,000 BC to 1200 BC, art was more of a lifestyle representation, a way of expressing the lives of people, the mundane lives. This art still lives in the caves and portrays the life story of the civilization that existed back then. After this time and up to the early 19th Century, art was fantasy.

A way of fantasizing life and making that fantasy come alive in form of art. This was an era of pure imagination, where every artwork was artists’ fantasy and an escape from reality. The art since then has been evolved to more minimalistic and abstract form, where every artwork is a puzzle of all the thoughts, a beautiful chaos that defines the complexity of the brain and the complexity of emotions.

Art has been and always will be a reality check and an escape from reality at the same time. The art lies in the thoughts and imagination of every individual, but it takes courage to bring that thought to life. Art will keep on changing and evolving as we move on with our lives, but art will never die. #childrenmuseum #cami #childrenartists #artin2022 #art2022 #digitalart #chidlrensartmuseum
